Andrew Alvarez led the charge with a commanding performance, striking out a season-high eight batters over six innings while allowing just three hits and two runs.

Syracuse jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning, capitalizing on a double from Jett Williams, a walk, and a single to load the bases. Ryan Clifford brought in the first run with a groundout, and Pablo Reyes added a sacrifice fly.
Rochester responded quickly in the bottom of the second. Nick Schnell walked, and Yohandy Morales singled to set the table for Andrew Pinckney, who drove in both runners with a single to center, tying the game 2-2.
The Plates took control in the fourth. Morales and Pinckney reached on walks before Lipscomb’s two-run double gave Rochester its first lead. Nasim Nuñez added another run on an error, and Franklin’s two-run blast capped the inning, making it 7-2.
Rochester padded its lead in the sixth when Schnell singled home Jackson Cluff, who had walked and stolen his 19th base of the year. In the eighth, Francisco Mejía doubled and scored on a Cluff sacrifice fly to extend the lead to 9-2.
The Mets threatened in the ninth with singles from Williams and Clifford, but Zach Brzykcy shut the door with a scoreless inning.
Rochester will aim for a third straight win on Friday night. Bryce Conley gets the start against Syracuse’s Brandon Waddell. First pitch is scheduled for 6:45 p.m. EDT.

Daily Report From Harrisburg:
HARTFORD, CT — The Harrisburg Senators battled their way back to the .500 mark Thursday night, outlasting the Hartford Yard Goats 8–6 in a seesaw matchup at Dunkin’ Park.
Harrisburg erupted for five runs in the fifth inning and held off a late Hartford push to seal the victory.
Carlos De La Cruz delivered the final blow with a solo home run in the ninth, giving the Senators breathing room before Daison Acosta closed the door in the bottom half for his fourth save.
Jackson Kent picked up the win in his Double-A debut, working five innings despite allowing six runs. The Senators' bullpen picked him up, with Hyun-il Choi, Dustin Saenz, and Acosta combining for four scoreless innings while retiring all 12 batters they faced.
The Senators grabbed an early 2–0 lead in the third on an RBI groundout by Kevin Made and a sacrifice fly from Branden Boissiere. After Hartford responded with three runs in the fourth, Harrisburg exploded for five in the fifth. RBI knocks by Made, Boissiere, De La Cruz, Sam Brown, and Joe Naranjo highlighted the rally, putting the Senators ahead 7–3.
Hartford cut it to 7–6 with a three-run homer by Cole Carrigg in the bottom of the fifth, but the Yard Goats were silenced the rest of the way.
Harrisburg finished with 15 hits, led by Cayden Wallace’s three-hit night. Made, Boissiere, and De La Cruz each drove in multiple runs to pace the offense.

Daily Report From Wilmington:
WILMINGTON, DE — The Wilmington Blue Rocks split a doubleheader against the Jersey Shore BlueClaws on Thursday night at Frawley Stadium, taking game one 6–4 before falling 7–3 in extra innings in the nightcap.
The first game resumed on Thursday after being suspended due to rain on Wednesday, while game two went to eight innings in the scheduled seven-inning format.
Game One:
Wilmington took the opener behind a four-hit game from Elijah Nunez and timely hitting from Caleb Lomavita and Jeremy De La Rosa. After a 1–0 start in the first inning on Wednesday, the game was suspended in the third and resumed Thursday afternoon.
Down 4–1 after a pair of Jersey Shore rallies, the Blue Rocks responded in the third with a two-run home run by Jared McKenzie. Wilmington then took control in the fifth, sending eight batters to the plate. A wild pitch, Lomavita’s sacrifice fly, and De La Rosa’s RBI single gave the Blue Rocks a 6–4 lead.
The Wilmington bullpen combined to shut out Jersey Shore over the final six innings. Wander Arias earned the win, and Anthony Arguelles notched his first save of the season, working out of a ninth-inning jam after the first two runners reached.
Nunez finished a home run shy of the cycle, posting a career-high four hits.
Game Two:
In the nightcap, both starters dueled through five shutout innings. Wilmington’s Josh Randall dazzled in his home debut, allowing just two baserunners while tying a career-high in strikeouts.
Jersey Shore broke through in the sixth inning after a throwing error allowed the first run to score. They added two more via an RBI single from Kehden Hettiger and a sacrifice fly from Avery Owusu-Asiedu to go up 3–0.
The Blue Rocks answered with three runs in the bottom half of the inning, tying the game thanks to a two-run double from T.J. White and a bases-loaded walk drawn by McKenzie. Marcus Brown grounded out with the bases still loaded, ending the threat.
The game moved to extras, where the BlueClaws struck with four runs in the top of the eighth. Wilmington couldn’t mount a rally in the bottom half, falling 7–3.
Wilmington will look to rebound when the series continues Friday night. First pitch is set for 6:35 p.m. EDT. Eric Swan will toe the rubber for the Rocks vs. lefty Mavis Graves.
