Daily Report From Rochester:

ROCHESTER, NY — The Rochester Red Wings were outslugged by the Toledo Mud Hens Tuesday night, falling 12–4 in the opener of a six-game series at Innovative Field.

Despite a three-hit effort from center fielder Andrew Pinckney, Rochester couldn’t keep up with a relentless Mud Hens offense that racked up 17 hits and five home runs.

Pinckney went 3-for-4 with two RBI and two runs scored, including back-to-back run-scoring hits in the first and third innings. His performance marked his third three-hit game of the season and brought his hit total to a team-leading 96 on the year.

The game unraveled quickly after a 3–3 tie through three innings. Toledo responded with nine unanswered runs, including a four-homer barrage between the fourth and fifth innings. Gage Workman’s two-run homer broke the tie in the fourth, and Justyn-Henry Malloy, Trei Cruz, and Eduardo Valencia each went deep in a five-run fifth that blew the game open. Toledo added two more runs in the later innings, including a solo homer by catcher Brian Serven in the ninth to cap the scoring.

Starter Riley Cornelio lasted 3.2 innings for Rochester, allowing five runs (four earned) on eight hits with three strikeouts. A shaky bullpen effort followed, with relievers Seth Shuman and Zach Brzykcy combining to allow five more runs across just 1.2 innings. Holden Powell provided some stability with 1.2 innings of one-run ball and three strikeouts, while Garrett Davila and Ryan Loutos finished the final two frames.

The Red Wings collected 10 hits, with multi-hit efforts from Trey Lipscomb and Yohandy Morales. Lipscomb added a pair of doubles, one of which drove in a run in the fifth.

Rochester will look to even the series Wednesday night, with first pitch set for 6:45 p.m. EDT. Andrew Alvarez is scheduled to take the mound for the Wings.

Double-A Harrisburg Senators

Daily Report From Harrisburg:

ERIE, PA — The Harrisburg Senators built an early 3–0 lead Tuesday night in Erie, but couldn't hold off a late SeaWolves rally, falling 4–3 at UPMC Park.

Sam Brown powered the Senators’ offense, blasting a two-run homer in the second inning and adding an RBI double in the third to stake Harrisburg to a 3–0 advantage. Carlos De La Cruz added a pair of doubles, while Cayden Wallace and Maxwell Romero Jr. each contributed extra-base hits in a strong early offensive showing.

Jarlin Susana was dominant on the mound, striking out 13 batters over five innings while allowing just one run. Despite his efforts, the SeaWolves slowly chipped away, scoring once in the fifth before tying the game in the seventh. Thayron Liranzo’s RBI single brought home the equalizer, and an error on the same play allowed the go-ahead run to score, giving Erie a 4–3 lead.

Harrisburg had chances late. De La Cruz doubled and Brown walked to open the eighth, but Erie’s bullpen escaped the jam. The Senators got the leadoff man aboard in the ninth but failed to bring him around, stranding the potential tying run.

Game one of a doubleheader is scheduled for 4:35 Wednesday. Jackson Kent will take the mound for Harrisburg and opposing him will be Jaden Hamm.

High-A Wilmington Blue Rocks

Daily Report From Wilmington:

WINSTON-SALEM, NC — The Wilmington Blue Rocks took an early lead Tuesday night in Winston-Salem, but couldn't hold off the Dash's power as they dropped the series opener 5–1 at Truist Stadium.

Wilmington jumped out in front in the third inning when Elijah Nunez lifted a sacrifice fly to right, scoring Donta’ Williams to give the Blue Rocks a 1–0 lead. It was a promising start for Wilmington, which capitalized on small-ball execution to break the deadlock.

However, the lead was short-lived. In the bottom of the third, Jeral Perez evened the score with a solo home run off Blue Rocks pitching—his 20th of the season.

Things unraveled further in the fifth. After two Dash hitters reached base, Alec Makarewicz delivered the game’s turning point—a three-run homer to right field, putting Winston-Salem ahead 4–1. The deficit grew in the sixth when Kyle Lodise added a solo home run, extending the Dash's lead to 5–1.

Wilmington’s offense was quiet the rest of the way, unable to build on its early momentum. The Blue Rocks managed only a few scoring opportunities and struggled to contain Winston-Salem’s middle-of-the-order bats.

The series continues on Wednesday, with Josh Randall getting the ball for the Rocks. First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. EDT.

Single-A Fredericksburg Nationals

Daily Report From Fredericksburg:

FREDERICKSBURG, VA — The Fredericksburg Nationals exploded for a season-high 15 runs, highlighted by third-inning grand slams from Cristhian Vaquero and Luke Dickerson, in a 15–4 rout of the Fayetteville Woodpeckers on Tuesday night.

The win pushes the FredNats (25–19, 55–54) back over .500 for the first time since early July. The third inning proved decisive, as Fredericksburg flipped an early 2–0 deficit into a commanding 9–2 lead behind back-to-back offensive outbursts, including two grand slams in the same frame.

After Fayetteville opened the scoring in the top of the third with a two-RBI double from Caden Powell, Fredericksburg answered emphatically. With the bases loaded and no outs, Vaquero crushed a grand slam to right-center off starter Raimy Rodriguez to give the FredNats a 4–2 lead. It was just the team’s second grand slam of the season.

Following a brief lull and an RBI single by Nick Hollifield to make it 5–2, Luke Dickerson stepped in against reliever Abel Mercedes with the bases loaded again. On a full count, Dickerson launched a no-doubt grand slam to deep left, his third homer in five days. The blast made it 9–2 and capped off one of the most explosive innings of the Fred-Nats’ season.

Starter Bryan Polanco settled in after the early damage, completing five innings for the first time in his last five starts. He gave up three earned runs on four hits and earned the win.

Fredericksburg tacked on more insurance late, with Elijah Green ripping a two-RBI single in the eighth and Randal Diaz following with a two-run triple to make it 15–4. The 15-run output marked a new season high for the Fred-Nats, who had not scored more than 13 runs in a game before Tuesday night.

The two teams will meet again on Wednesday for a doubleheader, with the first pitch of Game 1 scheduled for 4:35 p.m. EDT. Newly acquired right-hander R.J. Sales is slated to start for Fredericksburg.
