NORFOLK, VA — The Rochester Red Wings ended their three-game losing streak Friday night with a commanding 8–4 win over the Norfolk Tides in game four of their six-game set at Harbor Park.

After falling behind 3–2 in the second, the Red Wings tied the game in the third on an RBI single from Andrew Pinckney. Trey Lipscomb pushed Rochester back in front with an RBI single in the fifth, then broke the game open in the seventh with a 361-foot, three-run blast to make it 7–3.

Andrés Chaparro reached a career milestone in the win, collecting his 300th Triple-A hit during a multi-hit night that included a double and a walk. Nasim Nuñez also contributed with two RBI and three stolen bases, while the offense tallied eight runs on 10 hits and five walks.

The Red Wings bullpen was stellar, allowing just one run on two hits over 7.0 innings. The Tides threatened late, loading the bases in the ninth and scoring once, but Loutos struck out José Barrero to end the game.

Daily Report From Wilmington:

ABERDEEN, MD — Despite a solid outing from starter Eriq Swan, the Wilmington Blue Rocks came up short in a 2–1 loss to the Aberdeen IronBirds on Friday night.

The IronBirds struck first in the top of the frame when Griff O’Ferrall grounded a single to left, bringing home Enrique Bradfield Jr. to give Aberdeen a 1–0 lead.

Wilmington responded immediately in the bottom half. Caleb Lomavita lined an RBI single to right, scoring Cortland Lawson to tie the game 1–1. Lomavita advanced to second on a throwing error by RF Thomas Sosa.

But O’Ferrall came through again in the top of the third, ripping an RBI double to left field, scoring Vance Honeycutt and pushing Aberdeen back in front, 2–1.

The newly acquired Swan allowed just one earned run over 4.2 innings with seven strikeouts, but was tagged with the loss. Wilmington’s bullpen held firm, with Pablo Aldonis and Jared Simpson combining for 3.1 scoreless innings and just one hit allowed. The IronBirds’ staff stranded 10 Wilmington baserunners across nine innings to preserve the win.

Each team finished with five hits, but Aberdeen capitalized on early opportunities to take home the W.

Daily Report From Fredericksburg:

MYRTLE BEACH, SC — The Fredericksburg Nationals couldn’t overcome a disastrous sixth inning, falling 9-7 to the Myrtle Beach Pelicans on Friday night.

Fredericksburg took an early 2-1 lead in the third inning, sparked by a game-tying solo homer from Luke Dickerson, his third of the year and an RBI triple by Brenner Cox. On the mound, Liam Sullivan shined, striking out eight over 4.2 innings of one-hit, one-run ball.

However, the sixth inning unraveled quickly for the Fred-Nats. The Pelicans exploded for eight runs on seven hits in the frame, flipping a 2-1 deficit into a commanding 9-2 lead.

Fredericksburg mounted a late surge, with Nick Hollifield recording his first two hits as a Fred-Nat and Elijah Nunez adding a multi-hit night with two RBI. Still, the comeback fell just short in the ninth.

The Fred-Nats will try to halt the Pelicans’ momentum on Saturday, sending Luke Johnson to the mound for a 6:05 p.m. EDT start.
