Trey Lipscomb opened the 2024 season on the Rochester Red Wings roster, but a late injury to Nick Senzel just before Opening Day forced the Washington Nationals to promote Lipscomb to the majors without him appearing in a single Triple-A game. The sudden jump highlighted how highly the organization valued the 2022 third-round pick, even if the timing proved aggressive.
During the 2024 MLB season, Lipscomb appeared in 61 games for Washington, posting a .200 batting average with a .268 on-base percentage and a .500 OPS. He recorded one home run and three doubles while adjusting to major league pitching. Back in Rochester, Lipscomb showed far more offensive consistency, hitting .283/.346/.738 over 65 games. Defensively, he showcased versatility by playing every infield position and even logging five games in left field.
