The Washington Nationals have announced that both RHP Connor Van Scoyoc and LHP Alex Young have been promoted to AAA Rochester.

Van Scoyoc was a do it all arm in the bullpen for the Sens in his time here. He was a starter for several games and then found himself as a reliever coming out of the pen in relief of pitchers who were openers. Van Scoyoc leaves Harrisburg with a 6-2 record and a 3.54 ERA in 18 appearances, 5 of which he was the starter, this season. He pitched 56 innings this year allowing 23R, 52H, 16BB and struck out 56. Opponents hit .246 against Van Scoyoc in his time in Harrisburg this season. The Nationals bullpen injury fall out costs the Senators one of their most consistent bullpen arms. Regardless of the reason, this was a much deserved promotion giving Van Scoyoc another crack at AAA, where he spent last season in the Rockies organization.

Young has experienced a typically unprecedented rise up the organization. He is working his way back after not pitching in 2025 due to elbow surgery. The Nationals signed Alex as a free agent back in May and assigned him to the FCL Nats. In about month he was promoted to low A Fredericksburg where made three appearances in six days before one again being promoted. This time he skipped High-A Wilmington and landed in AA with the Senators where he has been for exactly one week. Young leaves Harrisburg with a 1-0 record and didn’t allow an earned run in his two appearances. He went 2 1/3IP allowing 2H and striking out 5.
