Flushing, NY - The Washington Nationals 2022 season is over, and what a season it has been; there have been so many storylines, action, callups, and so much more that it's so hard even to put it into words.

The biggest storyline for the team was the blockbuster trade that sent Juan Soto and Josh Bell over to the San Deigo Padres in a historic deal that brought a lof young up-and-coming talent. Honestly, it is going to be years from now that we will know who won that trade, and it could be considered one of the biggest franchise-altering trades of the Washington Nationals. Hands down...

Washington Nationals get swept by the New York Mets to end the 2022 season

Back to the last game for the Nationals In Flushing, the Nationals finished the 2022 season with a loss to the New York Mets, 9-2. The Mets will be heading to the Postseason in the Wild Card series after being swept by the Atlanta Braves over the weekend and dropping to second place in the NL East.

The Mets jumped to an early lead with three runs in the game's first, second, and third innings and cruised to beat the Washington Nationals. Getting the loss for the Nationals was RHP Erick Fedde, who will finish the 2022 season with a record of 6-13 and an ERA of 5.81, a WHIP of 1.63, and 94 strikeouts..Fedde went 2.1 innings, giving up all nine runs on nine hits. He struck out one and gave up two home runs.

The National's bats came alive in the season's final game, with the team getting eight hits; however, they only scored two runs on those eight hits. The New York Mets sweep the Washington Nationals to end the season. The Nationals have a lot of questions to answer this season. However, there is a lot of great talent that is either currently either playing in the majors right now, or players are being developed in the Nationals' minor leagues: Rochester Red Wings, Harrisburg Senators, Wilmington Blue Rocks, and the Fredericksburg Nationals.

The future is bright for this team; the big question is, can this team climb back to the top, and how long will it take to reach the top?
