The Washington Nationals have promoted RHP Riley Maddox to AA Harrisburg. Maddox has made 15 appearances this season for A+ Wilmington and has been pitching extremely well of late. In the month of June, Maddox has pitched 27 2/3 IP and allowed 10R, 21H, 10BB and 24Ks. Maddox will be a welcome arm to the starting rotation for a Senators team who was desperate for one. The Washington Nationals announced that they have sent RHP Jhancarlos Lara outright to AA Harrisburg after he cleared waivers last week. Lara has made one appearance for the Sens in their last home series against Erie. No risk, potential high reward scenario for the Nats. Lara has tremendous stuff and throws extremely hard but has struggled to locate. If the Nats minor league pitching coaches can help him figure it out, he would be a huge asset to the organization.
