The Washington Nationals have promoted Harrisburg Senators C Max Romero Jr to AAA Rochester. He will replace Nationals top catching prospect Harry Ford, who is expected to be promoted to the Nats.
The Nationals have also promoted C Caleb Farmer from A+ Wilmington to AA Harrisburg. He will wear # 29. Caleb is back with the Senators after appearing in 5 games last season and 2 games earlier this year. He’s hitting .235 in 35 games between two teams this season.
The Nationals have also promoted RHP Blake Brown from A- Fredericksburg to AA Harrisburg. He will wear # 32. He's appeared in 3 games with Fredericksburg and is 1-0. He’s pitched 3 2/3 innings allowing 1 hit, 3 walks and striking out 4. He was signed by the Nationals at the end of June after being released in the Atlantic League.
Former Harrisburg Senators reliever RHP Valentin Linarez has been released by the organization.
