The Grapefruit League season for the Nationals kicks off on Saturday, February 21, with a split-squad matchup: one group will travel to Jupiter, Florida, to take on the Cardinals, while another remains in West Palm Beach for the opening game of the CACTI Park of the Palm Beaches schedule against co-tenant Astros.
On Monday, February 23, the Nationals will host a rare cross-state game against their National League East rivals, the Philadelphia Phillies, before traveling to Florida’s Gulf Coast to face the Yankees and Phillies on Wednesday and Thursday, February 25-26. The team then welcomes the Yankees back to West Palm on Saturday, March 7.
A special exhibition against Team Venezuela is scheduled for Wednesday, March 4, in West Palm, serving as a lead-in to the World Baseball Classic. The popular Spring Breakout, showcasing the game’s top young prospects, will take place on Saturday, March 21, with the Nationals facing the Cardinals in Jupiter.
That same day, the Grapefruit League concludes with a split-squad game against the Mets in West Palm Beach. Following spring training, the Nationals will head north for a home-and-home exhibition series against the Orioles, playing at Camden Yards on Sunday, March 22, and at Nationals Park on Monday, March 23.
The 2026 regular season opener will be on Thursday, March 26, as the Nationals travel to Chicago to face the Cubs.
