You won't want to miss anything because it ALL STARTS RIGHT NOW!
This time last year, James Wood was packing his bags and heading to Spring Training, hoping to crack the major league roster right out of the gate. Fast forward a year, and James Wood is preparing for his first Spring Training as a projected starter for the Washington Nationals. What will a first full year at the Major League level bring for the team and their rising star?
Will Keibert Ruiz finally solidify his position as the Nationals catcher? That's just one of the burning questions we'll be exploring this Spring Training! Sure, the Nationals have already invested heavily in Ruiz, but let's be real – they've also got some seriously exciting catching talent brewing in the pipeline. Could one of them challenge Ruiz for the starting spot behind the plate?
Ruiz has shown flashes of brilliance since joining the Nationals, but consistency at the plate has been an issue, and there have been some struggles with runners stealing bases. He's a couple of years into his Nationals tenure now, so if he hasn't completely locked down the starting catcher role, is it time to give some of that other talent a shot? It's definitely something to think about… and we'll be watching closely!
