Nats Just Keep on Winning!

⚾ DUGOUT DISPATCH

The Nats have just won 3 more games in a row, putting them at 38-35 on the season, and also making them 27-19 since April 25th. Three games over .500 is a great milestone for any MLB team… for the Nats and their fans it is the best milestone they could have ever hoped for. The Washington Nationals have not been 3 games above .500 since they won the World Series in 2019.

The Washington Nationals are so Back.

📊 THE BOX SCORE:

  • The Nats are arguably the hottest team in baseball, and if you won’t give them that mark, they are easily the strongest young team in the MLB. With the youngest manager in the MLB since 1972, and 2nd youngest roster in the MLB, no one expected anything from this team. Flash forward to the middle of June and they are a top 10 team and reaching milestones they haven’t in 6 years. Coming up on All-Star break and the deadline, the Nats are a couple good weeks away from finally buying and building their team at the deadline rather than blowing it all up.

  • Nats 27 year-old starting pitcher Andrew Alvarez has continued to have an extremely solid season since being called up from Triple-A earlier in the year, and getting more starts as a result of Jake Irivin going to IL earlier in the year. Earning the win yesterday, and in his last 3 starts, Alvarez has pitched 12.2 innings, striking out 13 and allowing only 4 runs. Now moving his ERA to 3.49 on the year, Alvarez has posed himself another solid arm the Nats can rely on, and with them never having enough pitching strength, this is the kind of development they need as they push forward this year.

  • As All-Star break looms closer and closer, the Nats dynamic duo of CJ Abrams and James Wood are extremely deserving of All-Star bids and sitting close in current voting. As of yesterday, Abrams is currently leading the NL Shortstop voting deservedly, as he is 4th in the MLB in RBIs. Wood however is currently 7th in voting and needs our help. Being 7th for NL outfield makes no sense as Wood leads the NL outfielders in Homers, OPS, Runs, XBH, Walks and wRC+. Make sure to get your votes in so we can stop this robbery from happening!

  • Nats 24 year-old right fielder Dylan Crews is finally showing glimpses of why he was the 2023 2nd overall pick. After getting called up previously and struggling, Crews has recently started to find his groove, playing some very above average baseball. In his last 5 games, Crews has tallied an RBI and hit in each one, along with 2 homers in the last 4. Still extremely young and quick, this kind of efficiency batting 3rd for the Nats is all they need from him as he continues to develop and become an All-Star level piece for the team.

    🗣️ LOCKER ROOM LORE

With the current All-Star voting holding Wood at 7th in outfield voting and Abrams in 1st for shortstops, Butera had to weigh in his opinion.

It does not surprise me that CJ is leading for shortstops. I think it's very much deserved, and I think he should be in that position,” Butera said prior to the Nationals’ 7-3 win over the Royals on Monday at Nationals Park. “The surprise is Woody at seventh. I don't know what else he needs to do. [He has the] second-best OPS in baseball behind Shohei [Ohtani], I believe, at age 23. Defense has been better this year. That one, I don't really understand.”

Don’t forget to get your votes in!

📈 MORNING STAT

Nats Win 3rd Straight at Home Against KC

🔥 HEADLINE

Finally getting the ball rolling at home, Nats power 3rd straight home win in Royals series opener

  • Final Score: Nationals 7, Royals 3

  • Date: June 15, 2026

  • Location: Nationals Park

⚾ DUGOUT DISPATCH

The Nats win their 3rd straight game, finally getting some momentum when playing at home. Up 1-0 early in their series against the Royals, today’s game presents the opportunity to win 4 straight games and series, and the confidence should be high with ace Foster Griffin on the mound. Crews heating up, Wood playing with a chip on his shoulder, Abrams being his usual self, and the bullpen putting together some great outings, the Nats really need a series win or possible sweep in these next 2 games. Let’s hope they can get it done to keep the spirits and momentum of the overachieving season going.

theFUTURE

⚾ DUGOUT DISPATCH

The Nats farm system is continuing to play great day in and day out, with multiple top prospects for them making cases for call ups in the near future. Eli Willits who was recently called up to the Wilmington Blue Rocks has continued to play amazing, and Harrisburg Senators pitcher Robert Cranz was promoted yesterday to Triple-A Rochester.

📊 THE BOX SCORE:

  • The Rochester Red Wings, Nats Triple-A affiliate have continued to play extremely solid baseball, winning 7-6 on Sunday to move their record to 38-24 on the season. In the close win, Nats Brady House had another big game. Since being reassigned back down to Triple-A, working on his eventual breakout in the majors, House has batted .300, tallying 4 hits and 2 RBIs, with one of them being the game sealing run in the top of the 11th inning.

  • The Nats Single-A affiliate Fredericksburg Nationals have continued to be the Nats strongest minor league affiliate, currently sitting at 44-19 on the season despite the loss on Sunday. Playing great baseball recently has been Elian Soto, the younger brother of MLB All-Star Juan Soto. Since Eli Willits was called up, Elian has gotten a chance to shine, batting .346 for the Fred Nats so far with a .611 average in June. With insane baseball talent obviously in his blood, let’s see where his career will take him on this streak.

  • The Nats High-A affiliate Wilmington Blue Rocks have struggled recently, moving to 28-34 on the season in their loss on Sunday. Despite the recent struggles however, the addition of Eli Willits has proved as an extremely valuable bat, as he has seemingly flawlessly made the jump up. Batting .325 in June and continuing to make waves, Willits will continue making his incredibly impressive journey to the majors at just 18 years old.

  • The Harrisburg Senators, Nats Double-A affiliate have also struggled recently, losing their game on Sunday to move them to 32-31 on the season, still above .500. Since being called up from Wilmington, Nats 5th overall ranked prospect Devin Fitz-Gerald has struggled, not being able to get anything going. Being one of the hottest bats in the majors for the Blue Rocks, it is only a matter of time before he gets it going again, and fans should keep a close eye on his progress.

📈 MORNING STAT

The Nats minor league teams are a combined 142-108 on the year, 34 games above .500.
