Injury & Roster Updates

  • The Washington Nationals made a lineup change before the game. Jacob Young had a swollen hand after getting hit, which caused him to exit last night’s game in the sixth inning. It was reported that Young underwent an X-ray on his hand to see if there was any serious damage. It turned out that his hand was fine.
  • For the third straight day, CJ Abrams has been scratched. His left shoulder still bothers him when he tries to swing.
  • Before today’s game, the Nationals announced they recalled C Drew Millas from Rochester and designated Riley Adams back down to Rochester. Millas was  hitting .308 with six doubles, five homers, 22 RBI, eight walks, five stolen bases, and 11 runs scored in 30 games for the Red Wings. He hit safely in nine of his last ten games, going 12-for-36 (.333) with a double and eight RBI during that stretch.  Riley Adams, who appeared in 25 games for the Nationals this season. He hit .215 with five doubles, two homers, six RBI, seven walks, one stolen base, and six runs scored, so it made sense for the move by the team.
