WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Washington Nationals were awarded the 11th overall pick in the 2026 MLB Draft via Tuesday’s lottery. The team was ineligible for a top-10 pick due to being a “payor club” in revenue sharing, as those organizations can not receive lottery selections two years in a row. The Chicago White Sox drew the first overall choice, and will now be in the same position Washington was just half a year ago when they selected Eli Willits in July. The Tampa Bay Rays, Minnesota Twins, San Francisco Giants, Pittsburgh Pirates, Kansas City Royals, Baltimore Orioles, Athletics, Atlanta Braves, and Colorado Rockies will pick before the Nationals as well.
