FREDERICKSBURG, VA- The Fredericksburg Nationals concluded their 2025 regular season with a 6-3 loss against the Carolina Mudcats on Sunday afternoon at Virginia Credit Union Stadium.
Sunday was also the final game in the history of the Mudcats, moving to Wilson, NC to become the Wilson Warbirds in 2026.
In what was a game that didn’t have any affect on the second half, Fredericksburg (65-64, 35-29) used six different pitchers, all getting valuable innings ahead of the postseason.
Relief pitcher Merrick Baldo finished off what’s been a career-best year with his sixth-straight scoreless outing, allowing just seven runs across his final 21 appearances of the year, a stretch of 30 innings for the right-hander.
Brayan Romero and Angel Roman struggled out of the gates, allowing three runs each as Carolina capitalized in the middle innings.
