Tonight the Washington Nationals kick off a three game series against the Kansas City Royals at Nationals Park. The Nationals are planning on sending left handed pitcher Andrew Alvarez (1-0, 3.70) to the mound and will face right handed pitcher Mitch Spence from the Royals.

On Sunday, the Washington Nationals beat the Seattle Mariners 10-1 and secured their third consecutive series win thanks to a stand out performance by right handed pitcher Miles Mikolas who pitched 7.0 innings of scoreless baseball, striking out three and allowing only three hits. The Nationals offense once again was impressive, as every hitter in the lineup recored at least one hit. Leading the way, was OF James Wood who went 3-for-4 with a homerun, 2 RBI, a walk, and 2 runs. Catcher Keibert Ruiz continued his hot streak also going 3-for-4 with a homerun, 2 RBI and two runs scored.

Tomorrow, the Nationals will continue their three-game series against the Royals with the first pitch scheduled again for 6:45 p.m. EDT. The probable pitcher for the Nationals will be left handed Foster Griffin who has a 7-2 record with an ERA of 3.46. The Nationals will face right handed pitcher Michael Wacha who has a 4-5 record and an ERA of 3.58.
