Tonight the Washington Nationals open an eight-game road trip that includes two four-game series against the Atlanta Braves and Philadelphia Phillies. Washington won two of three over Atlanta in the teams last visit to Truist Park back in May 22-24.

The Washington Nationals are in the middle of a stretch of 17 games in 17 days that began on Friday until their next day off on August 10, 2026. Additionally, Washington is also on a run of 39 games in 41 days from July 24 through Sept. 2.

Getting the start for the Washington Nationals will be right handed pitcher RHP Jake Irvin with a 2-4 record and a 5.23 ERA and will be making his first start since coming off the 60-Day IL. Irvin is back after missing just over two months with a shoulder strain. The big righty coincidentally suffered the injury during the Nationals previous series against the Braves on May 23.

The Washington Nationals will be facing RHP Grant Holmes who has a 6-4 record and a 3.79 ERA entering tonights game for the Atlanta Braves.

Tomorrow night the Washington Nationals will play game two of their four game series against the Atlanta Braves with the first pitch being at 6:45 p.m. EDT. The Nationals are scheduled to send right handed pitcher Foster Griffin who has a 12-2 record and an a 2.76 ERA. The Nationals are scheduled to face RHP Bryce Elder who has a 6-6 record and an a 3.96 ERA.

Griffin takes the mound tied for second in Major League Baseball with 12 wins and also ranks ninth in the National League with a 2.76 ERA.

On Saturday night the Washington Nationals are scheduled to send right handed pitcher Miles Mikolas to the mound who has a 3-7 record and an 5.65 ERA, while the Nationals are scheduled to face right handed pitcher Reynaldo López who as a 4-3 record and an 3.64 ERA.
