Good morning, Harrisburg Senators fans hope your week is off to a strong start. I'm Nash Henry, and I'm thrilled to join The Nats Report this season as the beat reporter for the Harrisburg Senators.

The Nats Report exists to tell the full story of the Washington Nationals organization — from the majors down to the farm system. Covering Harrisburg isn't just about Double-A box scores; it's about spotlighting the players, storylines, and grind that fuel the Nationals' pipeline to the big leagues. When we cover the Senators, we're covering the future of Nats baseball.

I'm a lifelong Nationals fan living out in Indiana, and I'll be spending this spring and summer digging into the stories behind the stats, the ones that make a Tuesday night in April feel just as electric as October baseball.

If you enjoy this style of weekly recap, come back every Monday morning for more on #Sensylvania.

Welcome to The Beat…

📰 THE BIG PICTURE

Under manager Delino DeShields in his fourth season steering the ship, the Harrisburg Senators opened 2026 with a statement: a three-game sweep of the Altoona Curve (Pirates affiliate) that showed exactly why this Double-A squad deserves attention.

This year's Harrisburg Senators roster blends 17 returning players with five top-30 Nationals prospects, led by Wake Forest standout Seaver King.

⚔️ GAME RECAPS

Game 1 — April 2 at Altoona Curve (Pirates) — Senators 7-2

Alex Clemmey, the 2025 Futures Game alum acquired from Cleveland, took the ball for opening night. Three walks to start, but he settled for three innings of one-hit ball. Branden Boissiere erupted with a second-inning homer and sixth-inning bases-clearing triple. Caleb Lomavita added insurance; the bullpen (Van Scoyoc, Young, Mejia, Schultz, Simpson) slammed the door.

Game 2 — April 3 at Altoona — Senators 6-5 (10 innings)

Harrisburg jumped ahead early on a balk and Cortland Lawson sac fly. Davian Garcia impressed in his Senators debut (2 K's in the first inning alone). Tied 2-2 in extras, Cayden Wallace delivered the go-ahead infield single. Boissiere's two-run knock and Lawson's game-ending double play sealed it.

Game 3 — April 4 at Altoona — Senators 6-3

Kyle Luckham kept the starter trend alive through six innings. Seaver King tied it with a seventh-inning walk (one of his four on the day). Wallace and Sam Peterson gave Harrisburg the edge; Boissiere extended his RBI streak to three games. Connor Van Scoyoc earned the win with two shutout innings and four strikeouts.

📊 BY THE NUMBERS

  • Record: 3-0 (1st in Eastern League North)

  • Run differential: 19-10

  • Late-inning dominance: 15 of 19 runs scored 6th inning or later

  • RBI machine: Ha— 6 RBIs, homer + triple across 3 games

  • Prospect patience: Seaver King — 4 walks, elite OBP

💬QUOTABLE

"We're built to finish games that's our identity," manager Delino DeShields said after the sweep. The bullpen's composure and Boissiere's timely hitting give this Harrisburg squad a different edge entering homestand season.

🗓️ SERIES PREVIEW: NEXT UP

The Harrisburg Senators return home to FNB Field Tuesday for their home opener against the Akron RubberDucks (Guardians affiliate).

Watch for Seaver King's plate discipline against Akron's staff and whether Boissiere can extend his three-game RBI streak. With this sweep in the rearview, Harrisburg enters as the team to beat early in the Eastern League.
