Quick Notes: Washington Nationals announce 2024 Spring Breakout roster

As we reported earlier this year, Major League Baseball is going to be hosting the first-ever Spring Training breakout games throughout the league. Yesterday, the Washington Nationals announced their roster for next week's first-ever Spring Breakout game against the Mets in Port St. Lucie.

According to MLB Pipeline, the lineup includes 22 of their top 30 prospects, nine of the top 10, and 12 of the top 15. It's not bad at all.

Washington Nationals prospects of Dylan Crews, James Wood, Robert Hassell II, Daren Baker, Jackson Rutledge, and other top prospects will be featured in the game.

In response to the released list, Manager Davey Martinez said, β€œI just looked at the list, and it's a pretty good list. β€œI'm pretty excited about it. I'm gonna manage that game. So I don't know if I'm a breakout guy anymore, but I just want to watch them play. It'll be fun.” Martinez continued, β€œI want to see them all play hard.”

The game against the New York Mets will be streamed live on MLB.com, with the Nationals radio call available on Nationals.com next Friday, March 15th, at 3:00 pm. EDT in Port St. Lucie.
