FIRST TO 300 RUNS

⚾ DUGOUT DISPATCH

The Nationals have been leading the MLB in runs scored, and they aren't taking their foot off the gas. The Nats recently hit 304 runs scored, which is 22 runs above the Braves, who have the second-most runs so far this season. The Nats are one of the best offensive teams in MLB, and their high-powered offense is the reason for their success.

📊 THE BOX SCORE:

  • Winning: Due to the high-powered offense, the Nats currently have a four-game win streak, have won or tied their last five series, and are now two games above .500.

  • Former All-Stars: James Wood leads the team in home runs, hits, and on-base percentage. CJ Abrams leads the team in RBIs and batting average.

  • Other stats: Aside from leading the league in runs scored, the Nats are third in total hits, tied for third in stolen bases, and tied for fourth in home runs.

🗣️ LOCKER ROOM LORE

James Wood commented on the team's success at batting, saying, “ I feel like collectively as a team we've been having good at-bats.” Woods later said, “When you feel confident in every guy in the lineup, it definitely makes it a lot easier.”

⚾ DUGOUT DISPATCH

The Nationals acquired Pitcher Carson Palmquist from the Colorado Rockies for cash. The Nats have assigned Palmquist to the Rochester Red Wings in response to pitcher Max Kranick being placed on the 60-day injured list.

📊 THE BOX SCORE:

  • ERA & WHIP: While in the minor leagues, Palmquist has posted an ERA of 4.36 and a WHIP of 1.38. In 9 MLB games, he posted an 8.91 ERA and a 2.04 WHIP.

  • Strikeouts: Throughout his time in the minors, Palmquist has a K/9 of 11.39. In just 2026, his K/9 is 8.64

  • Kranick Health: Kranick has had multiple surgeries in the past, including a right elbow tendon repair in 2025 and Tommy John surgery in 2022. One factor in Palmquist's time in Rochester will be Kranick's arm and whether he can recover in time to pitch.

🗣️ LOCKER ROOM LORE

Recently, the Nats have been making a lot of low-risk moves in hopes of improving their bullpen. The Nats see potential in Palmquist and are willing to make a small sacrifice to see if he can develop into a reliable pitcher.
