2023 ARIZONA FALL LEAGUE: Updated look at the Nationals Prospects
With about a month’s worth of games left to play in the Arizona Fall League, the Nationals affiliate team, the Scottsdale Scorpions, sit in third place with a 6-4-1 record.
The Washington Nationals prospects on this year’s team: RHP Jack Sinclair, RHP Orlando Ribalta, RHP Thaddeus Ward, LHP DJ Herz, RHP Holden Powell CF Robert Hassell III, 3B Trey Lipscomb, and C Israel Pineda.
Non-Pitchers
- CF Robert Hassell III has a batting average of .286 with an OPS of .603. He has appeared in 10 games and has 35 at-bats where he has had eight RBIs, 10 hits, 11 strikeouts, three walks, and stolen four bases. Hassell III is hitting .316 through nine games (10-33) with two RBI and eight walks. On Friday, he beat out a grounder to first for an infield single, walking it off for Scottsdale.
- 3B Trey Lipscomb currently has an OPS of .344 a batting average of .172 through seven game appearances and 29 at-bats. He has struck out eight times and has five hits. Lipscomb has a slugging percentage of .172
- C Israel Pineda currently has a batting average of .154 with an OPS of .462. Pineda has appeared in six games and has had 26 at-bats He has five RBI, one home run, a double, and four hits.
Pitchers
- RHP Jack Sinclair has a 2-0 record and is currently tied for 69 in the league with a 4.50 ERA. Sinclair has pitched a total of 4.0 innings giving up three runs [two of them were earned] on six hits. He has struck out four walked three and given up no home runs.
- RHP Orlando Ribalta has a 2-1 record with an era of 2.70. He has pitched a total of 3.1 innings giving up one earned run on only two hits. Ribalta has struck out only one.
- RHP Thaddeus Ward has appeared in two games however, in both games he has appeared in he has yet to receive a decision. Over the two games, he has pitched 4.2 innings giving up three runs [all of them earned] on three hits, struck out six, and has an era of 5.79
- RHP Holden Powell has appeared in three games and pitched a total of 3.2 innings, giving up eight runs [seven earned runs] on four hits he has struck out two earning him a 17.18 ERA. He has a 0-0 record.
- RHP DJ Herz has appeared in two games throwing a total of 7.0 innings. Over the seven innings, he has given up three runs over seven hits, striking out nine, and walking two earning him a 3.86 ERA.
