Game storylines and notes
For the first time since 2021, the Washington Nationals have a chance at a record with a win against the Baltimore Orioles tonight.

Trailing 6-1 in the third inning, the Washington Nationals came back to defeat the Toronto Blue Jays with an incredible 11-8 win on Sunday. Eddie Rosario put the Nationals on top with a two-run home run in the bottom of the seventh inning, giving them a 10-8 lead and finishing the game with a clutch 2-for-4.
The Nationals have 12 comeback victories this season, the most in Major League Baseball. Five of the National's last seven wins have been in come-from-behind fashion.

Luis García Jr. went 4-for-4 with a solo home run, four RBIs, a stolen base, and two runs. García Jr has now hit safely in five straight plate appearances, going back to Saturday night’s game. Since his pitch-hit homer on Friday night. He’s reached base safely in nine of 11 plate appearances, successfully reaching base for 14 straight games.
Jesse Winker gave the Nationals a 7-6 lead in the fourth inning with a three-run bomb off Alek Manoah. This homerun was Winker's fourth home run of the season, and the third came against a right-handed pitcher. Winker finished the game 2-for-2 with a double, a home run, three RBIs, two walks, and two runs scored.

Starting today’s game for the Nationals on the mound is RHP Trevor Williams, who’s currently 3-0 after appearing in and starting in six games. Williams currently has an ERA of 2.27, a WHIP of 1.17, striking out 22 over 31.2 innings pitched.
In his last time out on May 1st against the Texas Rangers, Williams went 5.0 innings, struck out three, walked four, and had five hits. He threw a total of 79 pitches, with 45 of them being strikes. Williams got the win for the Nationals.

This morning, the Washington Nationals announced that they have activated left-handed pitcher Robert Garcia from the 15-day injured list while designated right-handed pitcher Matt Barnes to assignment. The Nationals also announced that they have reinstated from the IL list Outfielder Victor Robles from Triple-A Rochester.
