The Washington Nationals will finish up the second leg of a three-city, nine-game, 10-day road trip to California with the third of three games in Oakland against the Athletics.
Today’s game will be the last played at the Oakland Coliseum for the Washington Nationals ever, as the A’s will be playing in a different stadium starting in 2025.
Last time out. Behind an impressive start by LHP MacKenzie Gore, who pitched five shutout innings against the Oakland A’s en route to the National’s 3-1 win over the A’s. Gore only gave up four hits, struck out 11 batters, and only walked one, all while throwing 90 pitches, 59 of which were strikes. On the offensive side of the ball, CJ Abrams went 2-4 with a double and an RBI triple to help the Nationals win. Kyle Finnegan secured his fifth save of the 2024 season by throwing just nine pitches, seven of which were strikes. Finnegan's season stats include pitching 6.1 innings, striking out six batters, and only allowing three earned runs.
