The Washington Nationals kick off a seven-game road trip facing the Miami Marlins this weekend and then will face the 2023 World Series Champions, Texas Rangers, in a three-game series next week.

Last night, the Washington Nationals lost 2-1 to the Los Angeles Dodgers and suffered their first sweep of the 2024 season. Joey Meneses went 3-4 with a double in the fourth inning and an RBI single in the eighth. Meneses has recorded multiple hits in three of his last five games and has gone 9-for-15 with a double, 5 RBI, 2 BB, and three hits in two of those games. He also has hit six RBI in his last eight games, a stretch in which he has hit .367 (10-for-28) with eight RBI, four walks, and a run scored.
LHP MacKenzie Gore allowed just one run on seven hits, a home run, and two walks and struck out four over a season-high 6.0 innings pitched. Last night, it was his seventh career start in which he pitched at least 6.0 innings and surrendered one or fewer runs. Gore pitched a total of 102 with 66 of them being strikes. The Washington Nationals left seven base runners on base in last night’s loss to the Dodgers.
Lastly, Luis García Jr. finished the game 1-for-4 and has now recorded his in each of his last seven games. Over that stretch, Garcia has gone 9-for-26 with two RBI, three walks, and four stolen bases.
