After clinching the Carolina League second-half championship Tuesday, the Fredericksburg Nationals will look to close the regular season strong with a win tonight against the Salem Red Sox.

With Carolina’s loss to Myrtle Beach and the Fredericksburg Nationals' win Tuesday, Fredericksburg clinched the 2nd half championship and will host game one of the Divisional series against Lynchburg on Tuesday, September 13, at Virginia Credit Union Stadium. The Fredericksburg Nationals fell 4-2 Friday before Saturday’s game was canceled due to inclement weather.

Since arriving in Fredericksburg on July 22, Will Frizzell has been among the best hitters in the league. His 11 home runs in that time frame are the most in the league; he has the highest batting average (.371), the most RBIs (41), the best slugging percentage (.705), and the highest OPS (1.128).
