MLB commissioner Rob Manfred announced today that Atlanta will be hosting the 2024 MLB All-Star Game.

The 2021 All-Star Game in Atlanta was canceled due to the Georgia State Legislature's passage of the Election Integrity Act 2021.

Many believed that the Election Integrity Act contained various provisions that impact how elections are conducted in the state; some of these provisions have been considered by many on the political left to have a disproportionate impact on certain communities, such as African Americans and Hispanic Americans.

In the press conference announcing the unanimous decision by MLB owners to move the Oakland A’s to Las Vegas, Manfred discussed his decision back in 2021 to move the All-Star Game to Coors Field: “I made the decision in 2021 to move the event, and I understand that — believe me — people had then and probably still have different views as to the merits of that decision."

“We are thrilled that Major League Baseball has awarded the Atlanta Braves the 2025 All-Star Game,” said McGuirk, the Braves’ chairman. “Time and time again, Atlanta has proven to be a world-class destination for the most exciting entertainment and sporting events. I am excited that baseball fans will have the opportunity to experience Truist Park and The Battery Atlanta along with all this area has to offer. Over the coming months, we look forward to working alongside MLB to create memorable experiences that will showcase and support our community.”
