Quick Notes: The Nationals are hiring Danny Haas, formerly of the Diamondbacks, to be their new scouting director.

As the Washington Nationals front office makeover continues, the Nationals are in the process of getting a new scouting director.

According to R.J. Anderson a CBS MLB reporter, the Washington Nationals are “hiring Danny Haas, formerly of the Diamondbacks, to be their new scouting director, according to multiple sources in the industry.”

While no official announcement has been made via the Washington Nationals. Haas will replace Kris Kline, who has been the team’s scouting director since 2009. Last month, Kline was moved into a new position as a special assistant to General Manager Mike Rizzo.

Haas who is 47, has spent the past five seasons with the Diamondbacks as a “special assignment scout.” Haas began his career in scouting back with the Boston Red Sox in 2002 as an amateur scout. Haas also worked in Baltimore for seven seasons before joining the Diamondbacks.
