Quick Notes: Washington Nationals have requested the unconditional release of Alcides Escobar to make room for the addition of Luke Voit

Luke Voit is to join the active roster tomorrow and will most likely play first base for the Nationals, according to Manager Davey Martinez.

With the addition of 1B Luke Voit, the Nationals have announced that they have requested the unconditional release of Alcides Escobar. Escobar has appeared twice as a pitcher in just seven games since late June.

Luke Voit is to join the active roster tomorrow and will most likely play first base for the Nationals, according to Manager Davey Martinez.

Voit has previously played for the New York Yankees, St. Louis Cardinals, and the San Diego Padres. He was part of the trade between the Washington Nationals and the San Deigo Padres for Juan Soto and Josh Bell.
