While the other New York baseball team is making some serious moves this offseason, the New York Yankees have been relatively quiet in the free-agent world up until now. According to reports, the New York Yankees have agreed to terms with one of the prized free agents during the offseason: second baseman DJ LeMahieu.

Recently, reports surfaced that LeMahieu was growing frustrated with the New York Yankees' lack of momentum, causing him to tell his agent to reach out to other teams who had expressed interest, including the Blue Jays, Red Sox, Dodgers, and the New York Mets.

According to reports, the LeMahieu deal is for six-years, $90M contract.

LeMahieu, 32, has hit .336/.386/.536 in 195 games with the Yankees over the past two seasons. He led the American League in batting average (.364), on-base percentage (.421), and an OPS (1.011) in 2020, and he finished third in the AL MVP Award voting after a fourth-place finish the year before in his first season with New York.
