Leading this Morning’s Briefing: Nationals Farm System Shines

The Washington Nationals had the night off last night as they traveled up to Boston to kick off another road trip. This weekend, the Nationals will face the Boston Red Sox and have another chance to get above .500. Tonight, they’ll send LHP Patrick Corbin (0-3; 6.45 ERA) to the mound, who is still in search of his first win of the 2024 season. On Saturday, RHP Jack Irvin (2-3; 3.72 ERA) will take the mound, followed by LHP MacKenzie Gore (2-3; 3.44 ERA) on Sunday.

Even though the Nationals had the night off, all the Washington Nationals minor league teams played, and there were plenty of home runs. Last night, home runs by Dylan Crews, James Wood, Daylen Lile, and Brady House showcased the power and talent that is brewing down in the Nationals farm system. It continues to be a lot of fun to watch these players develop, and hopefully, we will see them in the big leagues soon.
