Daily Report From Rochester:

JACKSONVILLE, FL — Looking to extend their winning streak to three, the Rochester Red Wings dropped a tight 4–3 contest to the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp on Thursday night at VyStar Ballpark.

Trey Lipscomb led the way for Rochester, going 3-for-4 with two singles and a two-run homer—his ninth blast of the season. Christian Franklin added two hits, a walk, and swiped his 17th base of the year, but the Red Wings couldn’t quite complete the late comeback.

Jacksonville jumped ahead early, plating a run in the first inning on a Jacob Berry double and a Devyison De Los Santos RBI single. Lipscomb quickly answered for Rochester, launching a two-run homer in the second to give the Red Wings a 2–1 lead.

The Jumbo Shrimp tied it in the third and later pulled ahead in the seventh. Brian Navareto homered to open the inning, and a sacrifice fly later made it 4–2. Rochester fought back in the ninth with an RBI double from Nasim Nuñez, but stranded the bases loaded as Yohandy Morales struck out in a 10-pitch at-bat to end the game.

Kyle Luckham gave the Red Wings five solid innings, allowing two runs on four hits while striking out four. Andry Lara and Garrett Davila combined to allow the two seventh-inning runs, while Zach Brzykcy tossed a clean eighth.

Rochester will look to bounce back Friday night, sending Adrian Sampson to the mound for a 7:05 p.m. EDT start.

GREENSBORO, NC — Jared Jones crushed two home runs and drove in six runs to lead the Greensboro Grasshoppers to a commanding 9-2 win over the Wilmington Blue Rocks on Thursday night.

Wilmington opened the scoring in the second inning with a solo shot from Wyatt Henseler, his first of the season, but it was all Greensboro from there.

LYNCHBURG, VA — The Fredericksburg Nationals managed just one hit in a 7-0 shutout loss to the Lynchburg Hillcats on Thursday night at Bank of the James Stadium, dropping their third game in the first four of the series.
