On the offensive side of the ball, the Nationals scored nine runs on 12 hits.

The Nationals were down 3-1 until the bottom of the seventh, when, pinch-hitting for Trey Lipscomb, Luis García Jr. hit his second home run of the season with a fly ball to center field that traveled 402ft with a launch angle of 25 degrees.

This home run scored Ildemaro Vargas and Riley Adams, giving the Nationals the lead, which they wouldn’t give up for the remainder of the game.

Also, in the bottom of the seventh, Nick Senzel had an RBI double on a line drive to left fielder Davis Schneider, scoring Jesse Winker. This gave the Nationals a 5-3 lead.

Things got off to a hot start in the bottom of the eighth, as bases were loaded for Jesse Winker after an Alex Call, an intentional walk of Riley Adams, and Luis García Jr. walking; Winker hit a line drive to second baseman Isiah Kiner-Falefa, which scored Alex Call. Thanks to an error by Isiah Kiner-Falefa, Riley Adams scored, giving the Nationals two additional runs to give them a 7-3 lead.

The Nationals would add two more runs in the bottom of the eighth, for four total runs.

Dylan Floro closed out the game in the bottom of the ninth easily as he got Cavan Biggio to ground out, struck out Daniel Vogelbach, and got George Springer to fly out to end the game in 1-2-3 fashion.

Next, the Washington Nationals will continue their series against the Blue Jays tomorrow at 4:05 p.m. EDT. The Nationals will send RHP Jake Irvin to the mound to face the Blue Jays. Irvin enters the game with a 2-2 record and an ERA of 4.28.
