Leading today’s Morning Briefing: Nats lose 8-3

The Washington Nationals lost to the Chicago Cubs 8-3. The Nationals were down 3-1 heading into the eighth, and tied the game thanks to a Jeimer Candelario solo shot and singles from Dom Smith, Corey Dickerson, and Luis García. The bullpen then reverted back to its old ways, allowing five runs in the bottom of the eight. Keibert Ruiz stays hot, 1-4 with a double.

Your Nats Report Player of the Game is Candelario. The Nats next game is on Friday at 7:05 p.m. on MASN2.
