Leading today’s Morning Briefing: Nats promote prospects House and Lile

The Washington Nationals promoted two top prospects in third baseman Brady House and outfielder Daylen Lile. House is moving from High-A Wilmington to Double-A Harrisburg. Wilmington was a short stop for House, but a successful one nonetheless, hitting .318/.368/.540. Lile moved from Fredericksburg to Wilmington after hitting .291/.381/.510.

BREAKING NEWS:

Third baseman Brady House has been promoted to the AA Harrisburg Senators. House will join top prospect James Wood already with the Harrisburg Senators per @dougherty_jesse

The Nats lose 17-3

The Nationals lost 17-3, with Amos Willingham and Paolo Espino giving up 12 of those runs over one inning.

The Nats Report Player of the Game is once again Keibert Ruiz who continues to start the second half strong. The next game is tonight at 8:05 p.m. on MASN.

Down on the Farm

The Rochester Red Wings beat the Durham Bulls 12-8. Derek Hill went 4-5 with two triples and a double. Drew Millas and Travis Blankenhorn both went 2-4 with a home run.

The Harrisburg Senators lost 3-0 to the Bowie Baysox. House went 0-4 in his Double-A debut. Trey Lipscomb and Robert Hassell III both recorded a hit.

The Wilmington Blue Rocks lost 12-0 to the Greensboro Grasshoppers. Lile got a hit and walked in his High-A debut.

The FredNats lost 6-2 to the Augusta GreenJackets on the road. Outfielder Johnathan Thomas went 2-4 with a double and two stolen bases.
