Rochester, New York. - The Rochester Red Wings picked up another win against the Syracuse Mets this afternoon to end their six-game series with a 6-1 score.

RF Travis Blankenhorn homered for a team-leading ninth time today, a 412-foot solo shot that came off the bat at 105.9 MPH. The lefty Blankenhorn finished the game 2-for-4 with three RBIs and a run scored. Additionally, nine homers are tied for the fourth-most in the International League, and his 23 RBI are the most by a Red Wing through May 5th since at least 2004.

RHP Jackson Rutledge pitched six shutout innings (his new Triple-A career-high), his first quality start for the 2024 season and most likely his first since May 14, 2023, when he was with the Harrisburg Senators. In that game, Rutledge allowed three hits while striking out six and walking one.

With his quality start today, Red Wing pitchers have achieved three quality starts in a six-game series for the first time since 6/8-11 at Worcester in 2023 (3 in 4 games).

CF James Wood extended his team-leading on-base streak to 12 games with a single through the right side in the third.

Wood finished the game 1-for-3 with a walk and a run scored and now leads the team with a .325 (37-for-114) batting average, 37 hits, 10 doubles, 21 walks, 23 runs scored, and a .430 on-base percentage this season.

The Rochester Red Wings are now 15-14 for the season. They will have a day off tomorrow before starting a series away against the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders on Tuesday night.

RHP Spenser Watkins will take the mound first for Rochester in the opener, squaring off against Scranton’s RHP Will Warren. The first pitch is set for 6:05 p.m.
