Leading today’s Morning Briefing: Nationals sign Jordan Qsar to a minor league deal

According to MiLB Central, the Nationals have signed outfielder Jordan Qsar to a minor league deal. Qsar, who turns 28 in just a few days, was originally drafted in the 25th round by the Tampa Bay Rays, and most recently played for the Triple-A affiliate of the Phillies. Despite posting a high, 32.6 percent strikeout rate, Qsar is coming off one of the best seasons of his professional career. That is actually the lowest strikeout rate that he has posted since 2021 when he played in High-A. Combined with similar power production and an improved walk rate, Qsar was an interesting minor league free agent who can hope to break onto the big league roster with another strong showing in Triple-A.
